About automatic wikilinks to administrative divisions
editThe parameter "District" requires that "Do not add "District" to the end. Will automatically be added and wikilinked." This results in many links going to disambiguation pages such as Nangang District, Songshan District, Zhongshan District, etc. Can such automatic wikilinks to administrative divisions be removed? Editors can add links manually to avoid linking disambiguation page. Thanks! --Pengyanan (talk) 10:35, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your hard work and sharp eyes! Actually, there's already a parameter that was added in for instances such as this. Instead of "district", just use "districtb", and it won't wikilink it. I originally set it to wikilink by default, since it's obviously much more work to do it manually for each station, especially when many districts are not disambiguated. I went ahead and did it here as a test [1]. At the time when this template was created, I do not believe there weren't such issues, but it seems like they have come up. When I have more time, I can go through and manually change the necessary districts. Thoughts? Thanks! -Multivariable (talk) 16:45, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, I see! Thank you so much! --Pengyanan (talk) 16:56, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, if you could hold off on making those changes just yet, I'm going to tweak the infobox just a bit to make it easier to link district. :) Thanks! -Multivariable (talk) 17:14, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your patience! I've changed the template to make the disambiguation of districts easier, especially for stations that lie on the border between districts. If there's more than one district, just use "district", "districtb", "district2", or "district2b" accordingly, and it should handle everything and wikilink/not wikilink the appropriate ones. I've also updated the documentation to reflect this, which should help future editors. Thanks! -Multivariable (talk) 17:29, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
