Deepak Dhar
edit... that Deepak Dhar, along with Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, developed a new model based on Abelian sandpile model which came to be known as Dhar-Ramaswamy model?Source: Dhar's most significant contribution has been his studies of the abelian sand-pile model of self-organized criticality. With Ramaswamy, he obtained the exact exponents of the directed version of this model in all dimensions (Indian National Science Academy profile) A dynamical programming approach for controlling the directed abelian Dhar-Ramaswamy model Self-Organised Criticality: Theory, Models and Characterisation (page 479)

- Welcome to DYK reviewing. Please allow to note down a few points here.
- The reviewer normally starts writing by replacing the comment, "REPLACE THIS LINE TO WRITE FIRST COMMENT, KEEPING :*" you have started your comments at a place reserved for the nominator. But please don't let this dissuade you in anyway.
- "Bibliography" is distinct from "See Also" and should not be merged as per Manual of Style.
- Manju is Deepak Dhar's wife. Full name is Manju Dhar but I do not think it is advisable to mention the full name as the omitted part is the surname she received from her husband.
- TIFR is Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. I have added the acronym at the first mention of the institute in the article.

- Note: since ALT2 is the hook under consideration, it needs to be visible outside the hatted discussion. (I have also struck the original hook due to issues raised in that discussion.) BlueMoonset (talk) 21:54, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that theoretical physicist Deepak Dhar and Ramakrishna Ramaswamy solved the Abelian sandpile model of self-organized criticality with their "Dhar-Ramaswamy model"?
- @BlueMoonset and Yoninah: I did not quite get what you meant but have now rephrased the sentence. Trust this resolves the issue. jojo@nthony (talk) 06:57, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
- ALT2 is satisfactory. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:31, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
