Conrad Bangkok
... that Conrad Bangkok transports guests to the airport using Mercedes-Benz limousines that bear the names of magical beings from Thai folklore?Source: Yeager, John (2008-10-05). "Bangkok joins the powerhouse". The Daily Telegraph. Archived from the original on 2020-11-16. Retrieved 2020-11-16.The article notes: "The Conrad has a fleet of Mercedes-Benz limousines in which passengers can smarten up with a refresher towel and a glass of iced water before settling back with the morning paper or watching the news updates on CNN while receiving a back massage from the seat. These luxomobiles are primarily for ferrying guests to and from Bangkok's airports, but they can also be hired for shopping forays."

The article notes: "Earlier, the hotel initiated a limousine service that it says is 'inspired by individuality'. Each limousine is named for one of the magical creatures of Thai mythology to ensure safety and security."

5x expanded by Cunard (talk). Self-nominated at 08:57, 3 April 2022 (UTC).
- Note: the AFD was closed as keep, so the nomination can proceed. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 03:48, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- 5x expansion verified, QPQ done, no close paraphrasing found, hook is cited inline, interesting, and verified. GTG. Just for transparency: I don't think the "transporting to-and-from-the airport via Mercedes limos" aspect is interesting by itself, it's the mention of Thai mythology that adds the hookiness. hi @Cunard, Narutolovehinata5, and Theleekycauldron: I'm reopening this nom following an issue raised at ERRORS, in particular that the source for the Merc limos and the Thai mythology limos are not from the same year (2008/2006) and are both very old. From an anecdotal search, it seems that by 2011 the hotel was introducing BMW limos instead of Mercs,[1][2] (and from this picture I'm not even sure if that qualifies as a limo anyway, it looks more like just a high-spec saloon car!) Their current website says "Airport Shuttle: Not available". Anyway, it seems some reworking will be necessary as it's WP:SYNTH and of dubious accuracy at present. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 10:22, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Amakuru: I see. I'm proposing a totally different hook, would this be okay?
- ALT1... that on the day the Conrad Bangkok hotel opened in 2003, 10 people climbed up its walls dressed as Spider-Man?
- I checked the The Nation source used to verify it and it's there. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:29, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping to Fram as the one who raised the issue at WP:ERRORS. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:30, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: that sounds like a good hooky fact to me. If someone approves it then I can re-promote. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 10:33, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed to check ALT1. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:46, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: the reviewer should also check to be sure that the article itself has been reworked to address the issues raised at ERRORS, based on Amakuru's summary above. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:33, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contribs), for proposing the new hook, which I support. Thank you, Amakuru (talk · contribs), for your analysis. I reworded the sentences about the limousines to address the concerns raised here. Cunard (talk) 06:49, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
