Anna and Bernhard Blume

edit
  • Reviewed: Cinta Pertama (2006 film)
  • Comment: Bernhard Blume died on 1 September. The funeral is on 8 September. I guess he would have been pleased to see their "titles with a twist". Not all of them translate well but these two do, more or less, and are supported by sources.

  • Comment: I support Gerda's implicit request to have this shown on the 8th. Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • Review comment: Am accepting the Amazon citation as it is only to reference a partial list of their works. Regarding plagiarism, I would prefer that those large block quotes be worked into the text somehow. Crisco 1492 (talk)
  • Let me understand: I tried to keep the way of writing as original as possible, clearly marked as quote, to add authenticity. Some of it I said in my own words in addition. People knowing German could turn to the German version to get even closer. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:17, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I am generally a little cautious using blockquotes. Right now you have 1,429 characters in the blockquotes, including spaces. The current DYK check-readable content is 2,253; as such, blockquotes take up at least 35% of the article. That would be difficult to argue fair-use for. Crisco 1492 (talk) 14:35, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • To my understanding DYK check doesn't count the blockquotes. They are not marked yellow. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:44, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • It doesn't, that count is from Microsoft Word. To be a bit clearer: The article is currently 1,429 characters in block quotes, 2,253 characters in what DYK qualifies as "readable prose" (i.e. the stuff outside blockquotes and lists), and another couple hundred in lists. It is a rather high ratio of block quotes to original content. Crisco 1492 (talk) 14:54, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I deleted the blockquotes as an experiment, DYK check came up with exactly the same number of 2.253 chars, which is well above the minimum required. Can't we consider the quotes just as nice-to-have additional information. - I also plan to expand the prose, but need first some time for other work. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:07, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • The issue isn't one of length, but copyright. That is why I suggested merging it into the text with some paraphrasing, as large block quotes could be seen as a violation of copyright. Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:13, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I think I see what you mean now. But I hesitate - English not my first language - to say something not as competently as others managed to say before. I think as long as it is clearly marked as a quotation, it's no copyright problem, right? Compare Bright Angel, the reviewer asked me to incorporate the quote in the text (then to make the 1500 char limit), but I asked to leave the authentic words. - Different topic: I like that you don't sign off the "plagiarism" box, because - repeated - I think it should say "no plagiarism" there. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:41, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
  • Different reviewers have different standards. I have attempted to incorporate the quotes into the text. Feedback is welcome. Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:01, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
