How do you cite when your primary sources are from social media? I'm referring to the other Malaysian local names largely unknown to the public which have been erased after being marked as vandalism. The other marked stuff I can get by. Later when I do my writing online somewhere else you guys dont cite my writing yea. Adamrmr (talk) 15:02, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Was it a bot who marked my entry as vandalism? I'm only a casual Wikipedia editor so does anybody care to elaborate what and why it happened? Adamrmr (talk) 16:40, 31 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Adamrmr: Thanks for trying to improve this article with your edits. My personal opinion is that you did not do any vandalism, though the information you added was indeed uncited. To your first point, social media generally does not qualify as valid references, see the page Wikipedia:Reliable sources (and specifically the section WP:UGC) for more information. There is also a section on the attestation of terms over at Wiktionary that might be relevant. As for your edits getting reverted, that was done by the IP user 211.107.142.12, not by a bot. It also does not seem that your edits were automatically flagged as vandalism as far as I can tell. I don't know exactly why that user reverted your edits, which they called vandalism, but you could try asking them at their talk page. If you have any other questions or concerns, you should of course feel free to express them. Best, ChromeGames (talk · contribs) 21:16, 31 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
