too complicated definition
editHi there, would like to propose to simplify the preamble of this article as current definition is too complicated and can be explained in a much simplier form - like the one in investopedia describing Year-to-date (YTD) as the period beginning January 1st of the current year up until today's date. - Agreed. Article's opening sentence is the most important, so I simplified it per WP:MOSBEGIN. --hydrox (talk) 09:39, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
