my recent contribution

edit

Yesterday I edited this article. Today I see that all my contributions have been deleted. I didn't even receive a message telling me why. I know that it is not allowed to add an article if your are too close to a subject and if you try to use Wikipedia as advertisement in this case for the WTF. However, I have only made those contributions to this article because it is greatly incomplete. My contributions were written in a very objective kind of way and I do not see the point for deletion. There are even mistakes that I wanted to correct. For example the official language of the WTF is not Korean anymore but English. I have spend a lot of time editing this article so I would very much like to know the reason for deletion. thank you very much Nelelemke (talk) 07:09, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reference Sources

edit

I believe that the sources of reference at least in the top half of this article are sufficiently authoritative sources of reference. There are some instances where the accuracy of the information contained within certain articles can only be verified from primary or secondary authoritative sources, these would include references for legislative bodies, national governments etc., since these are the bodies responsible for the publication of such information. In these instances all other 'verifiable third party sources' would merely be using the copyrighted words of these bodes under fair use terms. The IOC and WTF are internationally recognised as more or less the (quasi-) authoritative bodies in the areas of speciality for which they were primarily setup, and therefore are the most authoritative sources of information for all matters pertaining to these bodies, or at least the pieces of information relating to these bodies which have been referenced.

Dan Certificates

edit

I removed this section from the World Taekwondo Federation page:

"For Dan certification in the USA, the instructor must have at least a 4th Dan Kukkiwon certificate and USAT membership. Furthermore, the school must be a registered USA Taekwondo Club prior to processing."

The USA is a catagory 2 Member National Association (MNA) of the WTF. This means that any person holding 4th Dan Kukkiwon and above, can send application for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Poom/Dan directly to Kukkiwon and DO NOT have to be a member, or go through the USAT in Colorado Springs. However, persons of 4th Dan Kukkiwon and up that are members of the USAT can apply through the USAT for those who are also members. In the USA, we have the right to apply both ways.

In catagory 1 nations, like Saudi Arabia, no one can go direct to Kukkiwon, they must be a member of their WTF MNA, and must apply with that MNA. --Bigzilla 04:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are you sure about this? From the Kukkiwon site:
Promotion Test Regulations we see that a 4th Dan "...instructor who holds 4th Dan or higher Dan has a right to test the Gup promotion and issue the Gup certificates by his name for his students."
However I cannot find any citation for what you have stated. Can you provide a reference? SunSw0rd 13:33, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I apply directly to Kukkiwon almost monthly, and now I can apply online for my students. Please refer to the website you listed under Section 5.2 below:

(The USA is considered a catagory 2 Member National Association of the WTF)

Article 5 : Recommendation

1. Submission of Dan promotion test applications should be made only via the President of the Member

National Association (MNA) of the WTF in nations where the MNA controls at least 70% of
Taekwondo bodies and private instructors. It is not allowed to be recommended by the individual
instructors in those countries. Individual instructors are not permitted to make personal
  recommendations.

2. In those countries which do not fall into this category (herein after called "the 1st category"),

applications can be submitted by both the Member National Association and independent
  instructors.

Fair use rationale for Image:WTF-Logo.jpg

edit

Image:WTF-Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Restored previous talk that was blanked. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 13:48, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The WTF has no ranking structure. The WTF recommend that all issues of rank be directed to the Kukkiwon.
