symbols

but like what does the symbols mean like the boxes e.g. the triangle , diamond , and octagon ?

The triangle, diamond & octagon are associated with CCCR labels (Canadian Consumer & Chemical Regulations). The WHMIS symbols are always in circles (WHMIS is for the WORKPLACE). Science lab WHMIS certification... citation needed

I'm not about to edit the article, but it says "citation needed" for "If you are doing any kind of science lab, you should know what each of these symbols mean." under the section Public Engagement. It's easy enough to find this information on university websites by doing a Google search or searching course descriptions. The University of New Brunswick posts in bold for descriptions of its Chem labs "WHMIS certification required." http://eservices.unb.ca/calendar/undergraduate/display_desc.cgi?number=CHEM%25201006
