Date of death
editAny way to confirm the date of death? Have seen this image of a USD$100 travelers cheque paid by "Wm G Fargo" to a hotel in Leipzig, dated 1891-08-05. Bears a regular serial number, not the all-zeros common to a specimen note.
- The image link you provided was dead (404 error). I confirmed date of death from Fargo's obituary in the NYTimes.DACC23 (talk) 18:56, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
The first section is not so much "early life" as genealogy...
edit... but the really puzzling thing about this section is the last sentence: "His great-grandfather was the son of Moses Fargo (1691–1798)[4] and the grandson of Moses Fargo (1648–1742), who emigrated from England to Connecticut in 1670 and served with distinction in the Revolutionary War."
I don't know about anybody else, but I sincerely doubt that anyone who emigrated to Connecticut in 1670 went on to serve with distinction in the Revolutionary War. Zgryphon (talk) 03:37, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
