edit"Most bands that existed during the early '80's in Washington lasted only a few years, partially due to the interesting fact that the scene was made up of many children of bureaucrats that were either fired by new administrations or promoted to government positions elsewhere."
- really? That seems like a pretty fantastic claim. Any support?
50.204.66.142 (talk) 20:45, 18 February 2015 (UTC) Yes. Lame claim. I was not and neither were any of my friends.
i don't see any... i'm deleting it untill someone find some support... --evesummernight
--ridiculous claim. I was there during the hardcore scene and knew a lot of the people and bands. Besides most people in Washington who work for the government stay in D.C. 24.23.151.72 06:48, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Chalk Circle and the Velvet Monkeys may belong on this page, as they were in the scene (and both really good, especially live, IMHO!), and played with Dischord bands, but they were not punk or hardcore. Any way to qualify that?
Chalk Circle was a noise/jazz/post-rock almost proto-riot grrrl band.
The Velvet Monkeys were art rock/psychedelic/garage. Re above: Correct!

The Black and Tans are not a real DC harDCore punk band and should be removed
The link for the band "Worn Thin" is incorrect. It links to an album named "Worn Thin" by a band named "Weep" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Storm.at.sea (talk • contribs) 11:08, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Henry Rollins?
editI don't know anything about DC or punk or Rollins but he's from the area, shouldn't he be mentioned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.241.177.111 (talk) 17:39, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- His first band State of Alert is mentioned. Issan Sumisu (talk) 10:37, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
