This article needs changing. and the structure of lists of constituencies needs a re-think.
It seems (not entirely sure) that this constituency was formed after 1965, in which case it should not be described as an Essex or South East constituency. The area is part of the London electoral region and the map of Essex shown on the page is the Non-metropolitan county of Essex (not the Traditional county) and the associated unitary authorites making up the Ceremonal county. None of this area covers what was the Wanstead and Woodford constituency.
As I have explained in the brief alterations I have made to the article, this constituency has a unique history in that, its name was changed between the 1955 and 1974 redistributions. The boundary change was very minor and did not involve any voters (see Municipal Borough of Wanstead and Woodford). The Woodford and Wanstead & Woodford articles should probably be merged, when we reach the stage of tidying up after every constituency has some article.
On the county point the change was made in 1964, before the area changed from the administrative county of Essex to Greater London the following year. --Gary J03:12, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
