Genre is not real
editThere is no such thing as "brutal" death metal. Its simply death metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.238.222.205 (talk) 16:49, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
- Source calls them a "brutal death metal band". Also I can't really say you know much about genres considering you made other edits to articles and called Dying Fetus a deathcore band and you think Carnifex is death metal. Like what in the... are you serious? Haha Second Skin (talk) 01:31, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
- Actually the situation is this... long-standing consensus is that there is no such subgenre as "brutal death metal" (as a total absence of reliable sources reveals, and explains why it is not listed on the death metal parent article). They may well be a death metal, whose sound is considered by some to be "brutal" (not a genre, an adjective) but you can't list it in the info box until sources are provided stating explicitly that the genre exists. Also, with respect to your response to above anon, could you please take a moment to read WP:CIVIL. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 14:09, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- Incidentally, having just had a look, not a single one of those sources (for either term quoted) pass WP:RS. 14:11, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- Rather than doing blanket reverts based on your opinion, can we actually sort out the sourcing. You cannot use webzines and the like for sourcing genres, as they *all* fail WP:RS. Remember, at Wikipedia "reliable" does not mean "something I think is true"! You have also removed a bunch of legitimate sources that do pass the criteria, without explanation. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 15:13, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- Basically you call a band that play slams as "deathcore" but you call a chugfest of a band like Thy Art Is Murder who play like three breakdowns a song "death metal"? Uhhhh... ok, dude. Second Skin (talk) 15:16, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have never heard either band. I am simply reflecting the sources. Can you point to a single reliable source referring to them as "death metal? I looked but couldn't see any (only webzines, Metal Archives etc. that we can't use). 15:20, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Will any of these work for you? [1][2][3][4][5] Second Skin (talk) 15:26, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- 1, no (it's an online store, not written by professional journalists); 2, no (same reason); 3, no (same reason); 4, no (same reason!); 5, absolutely not a chance (not even an e-zine, appears to be a file-sharing site). You need something that pass WP:RS. Try a print metal magazine (there are plenty out there) that also have a website. Like I said, I looked but couldn't spot anything. It's about time they're in here
editI don't get why their page was deleted in the first place. This band is significant enough to be on Wikipedia. --67.86.33.1 (talk) 06:26, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

editThe only reason they're known at all is because of misheard lyrics videos surrounding their "chased through the woods" song. 72.71.216.250 (talk) 09:05, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- "The only reason they're known at all" yeah because no person on earth ever listened to this band for the music, but rather all 28 thousand monthly spotify listeners are just simply all still ironically humoring a 2006 youtube meme. Second Skin (talk) 07:26, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- They're also known for their Blood Splattered Satisfaction song. It Starts With One Thing (talk) 22:40, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
