– This had been moved in 2009 with Talk:WIC/Archive 1#Requested move after a rather weak consensus with very few participants. The argument back then revolved around Google Search results, but there was no note of even trying to use pws=0 (meaning we could have just been seeing the proposer's personal search results) nor was there a coherent discussion on why general search results are more relevant than the use and significance of the other meanings of the term. Only one other person participated, and they proposed WIC (nutrition program) as they recognized the ambiguity. As the references to the US government program often come as part of the phrase with the word "program", I suggest we switch to using that. A number of other topics from WIC (disambiguation) seem to have comparable usage and significance, cf. all-time views of all of those items, notably the Dutch West India Company. So it's not at all clear that the nutrition program would overshadow the sum of these; we should restore disambiguation and observe the clickstreams to gauge the actual reader interest (something we also couldn't do in '09). --Joy (talk) 13:06, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

- Support. There's no primary topic. If the closer tags this for cleanup I'll take a look at it (per MOS:DABABBREV) after this RM. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:45, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
