OK biography folks, so I have a question. It seems like Encyclopedia of African American History has a perfectly good biography of Burns (http://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/acref/9780195167795.001.0001/acref-9780195167795) as does his NY Times obit (http://www.nytimes.com/1996/04/04/nyregion/w-haywood-burns-55-dies-law-dean-and-rights-worker.html). I know that Wikipedia can't just copy that obit here. How do you (we?) handle that? Or is it not up to me, since I don't know enough about him and have no original sources. I guess my point is, wouldn't the most accomplished WH Burns scholar just write the same thing as is in those sources here? Is the job of a Wikipeida person like me to simply paraphrase or put in new words what was already written? HighAtop94 (talk) 15:14, 28 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
