Talk:Visa policy of Oman

No source?

edit

This article has been changed in the past months to claim that now citizens from 103 countries can visit Oman visa-free for 10 (14?) days. However no credible source is provided for this, only a news website (which does not even provide the list of the 103 countries).

You can for example check out with IATA's Timatic that Peruvian and Mexican passportholders do need a visa to enter the country, unlike the info provided in this page.

https://www.emirates.com/english/before-you-fly/visa-passport-information/visa-passport-information-results/?widgetheader=visa&nationality=pe&destination=om https://www.emirates.com/english/before-you-fly/visa-passport-information/visa-passport-information-results/?widgetheader=visa&nationality=mx&destination=om

Could anyone provide (if indeed true) a credible source of the 103 visa-free countries? Otherwise the article should be reverted to its 2019 version.

^^^ This is the proclamation from the foreign ministry of Oman regarding their new visa policy in English: https://fm.gov.om/oman-to-give-visa-free-10-day-entry-to-103-countries-to-boost-tourism/ In Arabic: https://fm.gov.om/سلطنة-عمان-تقرر-إعفاء-مواطني-103-دولة-من-ت/?lang=ar

So, it is highly probable that Oman, on a governmental level, offers citizens from 103 countries visa free access to the Sultanate.

^^^ Thank you but both links provided are news sites, and say Oman is "to give" the visa-free access, not that it has been confirmed. As per Timatic (https://www.united.com/en/us/timatic) which is the site airlines use to obtain visa requirement information, Peru is NOT visa-free allowed for Oman for example, even though the wiki article says it is. Please update the visa-free map as it contains wrong information, based on a news article and not on official government sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.239.111.234 (talk) 15:29, 15 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Would anyone please provide a source for the current map displayed in this page? All articles mentioned above are news sites, not official sources, and claim oman "to give" visa-free access to 103 countries but that has not been confirmed yet as far as I can see from Timatic. 77.243.19.252 (talk) 10:22, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

^^For those interested I finally found an official source: https://fm.gov.om/visitors/entry-visas/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.221.216.96 (talk) 22:53, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jordanians are not exempt from Oman visa

edit

I am Jordanian and read that Oman no longer requires a visa, but to my shock at the airport they required a visa. They said Jordanians can enter Oman without a visa for a 14-day stay if and ONLY if they hold valid residency in Saydi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar or the Emirates. I checked with the Omani police website but no such information is available other than their claim that 103 country nationals can enter Oman without a visa. However, in practice, this is what happened to me. 176.29.207.88 (talk) 10:45, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a source saying so? Because this is clearly original research. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 10:47, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
