Varaha Temple in Pushkar

There is also a Varaha Temple in Pushkar, Rajasthan. The original 12th century temple was demolished by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb during his invasion of Rajputana (1679-81); the Varaha Temple was then rebuilt by Jai Singh II of Amber in 1727. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.248.67.69 (talk) 23:56, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Good work, this article is generally good but needs a little work. This isn't part of the GA criteria, but why is there an external link for the Thiruvidanthai Temple and not any others?

1. It is reasonably well written.

   a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):

   The prose is excellent in parts but other parts are a little rough, I think the article could benefit from some copy editing. Here are a few examples I noticed:

• The sentence An inscription in the prakaram (circumambulating passage around the main shrine) quoting from the legend of the Srimushna Mahatmaya, a local legend mentions of the piety one derives in doing festivals during the 12 months of the year when the sun enters a particular zodiacal sign is confusing to me, I think it would be clearer if there was another comma after "a local legend". Also I think "mentions of the piety" can just be "mentions the piety"
• His hair on the head denote the sacrificial grass should be changed to something like The hair on his head denotes the sacrificial grass, hair is singular so "denote" should be conjugated in the plural.
• Even, Venkateswara is described to have took the permission of Varaha to take up his residence in these hills. I'm not sure what this sentence is trying to say.
• Consider splitting the first sentence of the Temples section into two sentences, something like Sri Varahaswami Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh is one of the most famous temples of Varaha. It is located to the north of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (a famous temple of Vishnu in the form of Venkateswara), on the shores of a temple pond, called the Swami Pushkarini, in Tirumala, near Tirupati.

   Mostly good, but in the fourth and fifth paragraphs of the "Iconography" section, why are the references all at the end of the paragraph? Can you place them after the sentences they are being used to support?
