Tragic story?
editI just added stuff about Geist being disqualified as "wolf expert" by judge in 2005 Kenton Joel Carnegie affair. Wikipedia article has deep detail and seems quite accurate.
In my view, Geist is somewhat tragic figure, notable mainly for recent, foolishly bellicose and somewhat paranoid approach to promoting what is basically, a rather unremarkable and scientific consensus about wolves. All this at expense of his minor notability as a former ungulate biologist.
Geist is now darling of right-wing hunting/ranching groups and pariah among former peers. Bio should somehow reflect this unfortunate reality. 76.250.61.95 (talk) 05:58, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
- Why are the words 'wolf expert' surrounded by quotes? This seems like a punctuation version of weasel words. 66.175.162.174 (talk) 14:43, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
peer reviewed
editGeist has no peer reviewed wolf studies to his name and seems to now no cater to wolf conspiracy theorist making claims with no scientific evidence. https://www.outdoorhub.com/opinions/2013/08/14/the-future-of-north-american-wolves-interview-with-dr-valerius-geist/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhand34 (talk • contribs) 02:10, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
