Merge Discussion
editThese two articles could easily be merged. Since the park is, mostly, the grounds of the mansion - I don't really see that there's much to say about one that couldn't also be said about the other, particularly in terms of their history. Currently, the mansion is a feature of the park and should be listed as such, alongside the boating pond, cricket ground etc. Both articles are currently tagged as stubs, so a merge would not result in too long an article by any stretch. --Paul Carpenter (talk) 07:30, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Comment I've made Draft:Valentines Park to give an idea of how Valentines Park and Valentines Mansion could be combined without losing content from either.--Paul Carpenter (talk) 12:06, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead with the merge. Go ahead and revert if you're strongly against it I guess. --Paul Carpenter (talk) 08:49, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
ISBN Error
editOn the subject of the invalid ISBN for the Redbridge book, I have emailed the author to enquire of the correct ISBN. If necessary, I will visit a local public library to look at a copy of the book in question. If I resolve the issue I will make an amendment here. Quartic 31 March 2007
I have - at last - spoken to the author (yesterday). The London Borough of Redbridge were issued with a block of ISBNs with incorrect check digits, I understand. The local library service is aware of this problem I am told, but without any timetable for a correction. (I tested the ISBN at the site "Bookbutler") Quartic (talk) 13:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Is this the cricket ground?
editCricketArchive lists a Valentine's Park, Ilford (with an apostrophe). Is this the same place? Loganberry (Talk) 00:18, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. The Wiki entry for Valentines Park (in the use of the apostrophe) was brought into line with current usage as demonstrated in the Geographer's Master Atlas of Greater London. The cricket ground is in one corner of the park near the junction of The Drive with Cranbrook Road. Quartic (talk) 01:22, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Valentines School not on site
editI would like to add that Valentines High School is not a part of Valentines park, but is simply beside it.
