Company names
editRather than engage in a edit war like a certain other editor wants to do, I will bring this up here first. There is no need at all to listed a companies full legal name in the references. For example, we write just "World Wrestling Entertainment" as the publisher, not "World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.". Adding the extra "Inc." adds nothing and just adds unneeded bulk to the article (I know not much and that is not my main reason for opposing it). TJ Spyke 02:51, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- I use the full company name. I like to use the full name. How many times have we discussed this? Either it is Standard match or something else. We are different, I understand that. But if you have a problem with something TJ with-in the article. Tell me first, maybe we can work out a compromise before it comes to this.--WillC 03:02, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Can either of you tell me if this is covered in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Style guide? If it isn't, then we default to the standard MoS on company names. Viriditas (talk) 11:08, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Probably not, but that thing has been re-written a hundred times.--WillC 20:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

– A more WP:NATURAL solution to these awkward disambiguation tags. The main article is already at TNA Turning Point. 162 etc. (talk) 19:18, 15 January 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. ASUKITE 19:39, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Long tiem ago, I proposed to change every PPV to include the name of the promotion. No one can guess what Navigation (2005) is. Support. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 09:50, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
Support per nom. – The Grid (talk) 13:51, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support, instead, "Turning Point (X)". Pages were moved to the current formulation in 2013 per WP:INCDAB but I don't think that applies here. Nothing wrong with "TNA Turning Point (X)", but "Turning Point (X)" is more WP:CONCISE. Sceptre (talk) 19:01, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- That is the format used for other TNA events (for example Genesis (2005) et al.) However, Turning Point (2012) may be seen as ambiguous with Turning Point (2012 film), for example. I tend to agree with User:HHH Pedrigree that the promotion name in the title helps with clarity; see comment below. 162 etc. (talk) 20:56, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- It's the format for every pro wrestling event. Armageddon (2007) (luckly, we don't have a 1998 event for Armageddon (1998 film)) Judgment Day (2005) (lucky, we didn't have JD on Judgment Day (1998 film) or Judgement Day (2013 film)), Destiny (2005), Departure (2004). --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:06, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

- Comment I'm not sure about recent events but I don't believe the old ones were actually called "TNA Turning Point", just "Turning Point". Backlash (2004) isn't called WWE Backlash (2004) for good reason because the 2004 event was not actually called "WWE Backlash". ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 20:24, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Backlash is wrong. For some reason, pro wrestling events don't include anything on the parentical to explain it's a pro wrestling event. There is no way a reader will guess Backlash 2004 is a pro wrestling event, not a movie, a book or a song. We have 3 No Way Out movies (No Way Out (1950 film), No Way Out (1973 film) No Way Out (1987 film) ) pointing these are movies, but for No Way Out events, (No Way Out (2000), No Way Out (2001) No Way Out (2002)) there are 0 clues. We change to WWE Backlash (2004) or Backlash (2004 event), but Backlash (2004) is against other disambiguations --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 20:48, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Just add "event", "wrestling", or "wrestling event". ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 20:58, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

- Support and support the broader idea of including the promotion in all PPV/PLE/whatever-supercards-are-called-in-the-future titles by default. There needs to be good evidence that they should be omitted. Genesis (2025) doesn't really disambiguate anything, as a year alone is insufficient context. There's a ton of things named "Genesis", and a lot of them have or will have 2025 editions. We need to rethink slavish adherence to the tendency of the promotions to leave off their name based on assumed context. oknazevad (talk) 21:05, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- And in particular Genesis (2018) was moved to Impact Wrestling Genesis 2018 (oddly-formatted) following a zero-participation RM discussion. The only other instances that clash per WP:Partially disambiguated page names are Unbreakable (2019) versus Unbreakable (2019 Filipino film) and Unbreakable (2019 Nigerian film), as well as many years of TNA Sacrifice versus Sacrifice (disambiguation)#Film. Oppose moving to Turning Point (2004), fine with any of Turning Point (2004 wrestling), TNA Turning Point (2004), TNA Turning Point 2004. And apply the same standard to Genesis, Unbreakable, and Sacrifice as well. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:10, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
