Cause of fire
editWhat does the following mean, or imply,r regarding the possible or likely cause of the fire?
"Although the cause of the fire is not known, Sonoma County emergency dispatchers sent fire crews to at least 10 reports of downed power lines and exploding transformers as the North Bay fires, including the Tubbs fire, began."

- It's implying that PG&E is at fault. It's based on a highly biased article, but from a reliable source, unfortunately. Other sources that are less reliable have meteorological data that suggests that the winds during this event exceeded those that PG&E is required to build to withstand. But they can't be referenced until a non-blog source is found. Anastrophe (talk) 16:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- There are going to lots of articles about the cause of the fire, as things settle down - see, for example, http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/7567756-181/north-bay-fires-a-complex?artslide=0 . I doubt that the quoted sentence, above, will survive all that much longer, given newer information and the fact that it pertains to ALL fires, not just the Tubbs Fire. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 23:32, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
- I could be cynical and propose a lazy news reporter's template "Although the cause of X is unknown, our favorite scapegoat Y did a correlated action Z." The gas company also shut off gas feed to lines in the area. Cause or effect? Do the media care? -- Naaman Brown (talk) 16:36, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Fire 100% contained
editContrary to the template message that is up today on Nov 4th, "This wildfire is still actively burning and has not been 100 percent contained," the fire was actually contained as of October 31, 2017 2:43 pm.

Beware of confusion about fire statistics because Tubbs Fire was incorporated into the CalFire LNU Complex, which includes other fires in Napa, Sonoma Counties. Erthygy (talk) 22:34, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Local media section
editSeems to be of little value, and little more than an opportunity to call out some of the small local resources by name, perhaps to drive eyeballs/viewership. Certainly seems WP:UNDUE. Thoughts? Anastrophe (talk) 02:14, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
