Tokyopop out of print list
editHere is a listing of Tokyopop's out of print listing: http://www.tokyopop.com/corporate/biz_dev/447 - It could be helpful in sourcing that certain volumes are no longer available. WhisperToMe (talk) 03:30, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Translation
editUnder criticism, the only subject mentioned is Americanisation. While deliberate edits, to censor or otherwise modify, are stupid and bad to include that and not the main criticism...
The main problem with tokyopop is that, while they obviously take care in the quality of the paper, printing and all that and are very good at finding and licensing really good and popular manga, they are notoriously bad at the absolutely most important point of all:
The translation.
They are, in general, the worst company, when it comes to the translations. Even without looking at censorship and bad localization decisions.
...and I am certainly not alone in saying that.
Given this, I am always saddened whenever they license a title, as it pretty much assures, that it will not get a good translation, as other companies can't translate it, and most scanlators won't.
I never, ever, buy anything from them.--213.113.51.11 (talk) 03:55, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- And we can't include any of that, unless you find reliable sources that talk about it. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:35, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Tokyopop Germany
editConsidering that Tokyopop Germany is functionally a separate entity with its own officers, licenses, etc., and that much of the current article does not apply to it, is it worthwhile to reorganize the article to more clearly separate it from the main company? Would it be appropriate to give it its own infobox? - JRBrown (talk) 00:53, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Since Tokyopop US and UK are now defunct, I'd say that it does deserve its own infobox and/or article (if there's enough info to make a standalone entry). Tokyogirl79 (talk) 08:53, 19 August 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79
