Note on Advert tag

edit

I just added an advert tag to this article. I don't have a problem with the article, its subject matter or anything like that. It is just written like someone is trying to sell the school, not to objectively portray it. There are also few authors, so having other people work on it would provide a more balanced article. --Glennfcowan (talk) 03:48, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

NPOV tag

edit

This article appears to be written only by the Dean of Admissions, user Dmkaufman. I think the tag needs to be added to the article until there are additional authors and viewpoints. Since I have already tagged the article as an advertisement a few months ago, I think my edits would be viewed as POV, so I will refrain from adding anything to the article until more has been added by other authors. Note on NPOV Tag

edit

From Wikipedia's Talk Page Guidelines: "Article talk pages should not be used by editors as platforms for their personal views on a subject."

The statement above, "I think the tag needs to be added to the article until there are additional authors and viewpoints," is clearly a personal view.

The article, as it exists at the time of this writing in May 2011, conforms to Wikipedia's neutral point of view guidelines. It sticks to verifiable fact. It does not contain opinions, contested assertions, or judgmental language.

Lastly, from Wikipedia's NPOV dispute page: "Drive-by tagging is strongly discouraged... Simply being of the opinion that a page is not neutral is not sufficient to justify the addition of the tag. Tags should be added as a last resort." No measures other than the tag have been attempted. The tag will therefore be removed. Other editors who are knowledgeable about the subject should be encouraged to contribute to the article, but its neutrality should not arbitrarily be called into question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmkaufman (talkcontribs) 06:10, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
