Source of lyrics
editFor the record. I cannot find any other source online, so I am tempted to say that the lyrics have been translated by me, and later copyedited by User:Nihil Novi... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 21:15, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
B-class review
editI think this is comprehensive enough for B-class, but I'll ask MILHIST for a re-review. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 17:51, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- "best known" s one thing, but "most beloved" is highly subjetive. And beloved by whom, by the Polish? Wikipedia is written from an international perspective, so that should clarified.
- Good point, removed the most beloved, it was peacockish anyway even if it was cited. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:50, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- "(see battle of Monte Cassino)" is poor internal linking, we should not adress the reader. Try to mention the battle in the text, and link it there.
- If the song was banned, then detail when the ban was removed.
- While I cannot find any source for it, such bans ended with the fall of communism. Potentially more could be found in Poezja odzyskana: antologia poezji polskiej 1939-1989. Wydawnictwa Szkolne i Pedagogiczne. 1992. p. 12. ISBN 978-83-02-04725-1. Retrieved 20 May 2012. but it's not certain; I think that such expansion would be merited for GA class but not for B. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:50, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Include as well some modern info about it: is it played in some specific circumstances? is there some custom related to the play? (for example, when the national hymn of the US is played people take the hand to the hearth)
- Not as far as I know. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:50, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- And which is the copyright status of the song? Are we allowed to display the lyrics? Cambalachero (talk) 16:10, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- Good call, we should probably remove it. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:50, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Copyright
editI've made a Copyright section out of the last two sentences and expanded them from the Polish article. I can't believe (or maybe I can!) that the Poles had to pay royalties to Germany when they wanted to use the song! Moonraker12 (talk) 23:58, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
