No mention of the 1916 year error
editThere's no mention of an historical error included in the song, when the lyrics says "I joined the Flying Column in 1916". Flying Columns started in 1918, not during the Easter Rising of 1916. It's an anachronic error that most of singers have repeated, being loyal to the original lyrics.
