"and was completed October 1830 " - Should there be an "in" between completed and October? Not sure if that's a necessary thing, or just a peculiarity of my South Midland English.
" By June 1832, a 22-mile (35 km) section of the canal was operating between Georgetown and Seneca, which includes Lock 21." - I'd say included is better than includes here, as it's referring to 1832 events
Was it Offutts Crossroads or Offutt's Crossroads? Both are used
Will change all to "Offutt's". I believe both were used. An article from 2010 in Bethesda Magazine interviewed Bill Offutt—a descendent of the family. The article used "Offutt's Crossroads", so I will too. Would not be surprised if the Post Office would not use the " ' ". TwoScars (talk) 16:58, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
