editSeaham Harbour is in County Durham so why was the locomotive owned by the Londonderry Railway? Biscuittin (talk) 20:04, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- Complicated history! Seaham Harbour was part of the estates of the Marquess of Londonderry, who had interests in both places. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:49, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Works numbers
editI doubt if Lewin built more than a dozen railway locomotives altogether so the works no.683 for the Seaham Harbour loco is surprising. Presumably, he used the same number series for both railway and marine engines. Biscuittin (talk) 17:15, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
