Organized information into categories that seem to be running elements that Sookie deals with in the series: Family Life, Living Situation (which also contains elements of personality - better title?), and Relationships. Is it worth adding a section for telepathy? I'm not sure.
Species
editGuys? Shouldn't we mention, somewhere, that she's blood-bound to a vampire, and stuff like that? And if the most recent book is the one where she suffers the fate of all Vampire-Romance Novel Protagonists. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.153.222 (talk) 15:19, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
It is listed that Sookie Stackhouse is a human telepath, but there are several indications that she is more than just a telepath. In the first episode of season 1, after Sookie saves Bill from the Rattrays, he asks her several times, "What are you?" This is the first hint that she is something other than a human who reads minds. Also, throughout the series Eric continues to show unusual interests in Sookie because of her "talents." But he later admits that there is something different from other humans, something that makes her special and he continues to get Sookie to drink of him until he eventually tricks her during Season 2. Sookie also exhibits a strange new talent during season 2 when she stands up to Maryann in an attempt to protect Bill; she sends a strange wave of electricity out of her hand and onto Maryann's face stunning her and prompting her to ask the question "What are you?" Sookie intrigues Maryann just like Eric has continued to be, further hinting at a supernatural significance to Sookie's being. It is unknown whether this new ability is only effective to maenads or if it can affect everyone. The Queen gives another piece of evidence during Bill's visit to her home. The Queen tells Bill that the reason he feels so attached to Sookie is due to a difference in her blood from other humans. Still there is only speculation as to whether she is human or more than human; regardless of how her abilities have rendered her a magnet to other supernatural forces throughout the series.--Mmaya1 (talk) 08:02, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Family Tree
editIf Niall Brigant is Sookie's great grandfather and the grandfather of Claudine and Claude, Claudine and Claude should be grand aunts and uncles to Sookie or first cousins twice removed. See the Cousin Chart —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sckeener (talk • contribs) 19:27, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not grand aunts or uncles, and not first cousins once removed, either, because they are not descended from Einin (they are full-blooded fae). they are half-first cousins once removed. - UtherSRG (talk) 08:29, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Cleanup
editThis page is horribly repetitive in that it repeats the same info about 4-5 times. Will do a cleanup time permitting. Q T C 03:29, 18 June 2008 (UTC
Ongoing?
editIs this series still ongoing or is book #8 the last? Shouldn't this be answered in the article? 88.65.111.170 (talk) 17:38, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- A new book will be out May 2009. 62.30.54.79 (talk) 20:38, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
serial killer?
editWho killed Adele Stackhouse in the book series? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.217.133.167 (talk) 01:24, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Adele Stackhouse was killed by Rene when he came to the house to kill Sookie because she consorted with vampires which he hated.65.17.101.10 (talk) 18:54, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Who is Pam, under Family life section?
editCurrently in last sentence under Family life, it reads "Pam states..." I don't find where it is stated who Pam is. Did I miss something, or can someone who knows please insert that in the appropriate place, please? 168.166.196.40 (talk) 20:04, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Sookie's "new" powers
editThey are not revelead in season 3 episode 4 as stated in the description here: "It is also revealed that Sookie has more unknown powers when the Vampire king of Mississippi comes to take her. As Sookie is being seized by a bodyguard werewolf she "blasts" him away with a flash of light that comes out of her hand." Sookie reveals the same kind of power in the season 2 already when she blasts away the Meanad.
Pronunciation of "Sookie"?
editThe article intro could use a parenthetical mention of how "Sookie" is pronounced. If you do a Google search you will see it is a question others are asking, too. Not everyone has seen the series (like me) but the newsstands are full of pictures and articles every week. 5Q5 (talk) 14:25, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
I added this at the top of the articly. 18:38, 6 December 2011 (UTC)shari.anderson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shari.anderson (talk • contribs)

Nickname
editIf "Sookie" is a nickname, as the article says, what is it a nickname for? 99.237.143.219 (talk) 18:49, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Never having heard of this series or the TV adaptation, I looked up the name and it appears to be a variant of the old English Sukey, a derivation of Susan type names. Oddly, for a waitress character, Sukey in England would be thought of as a typical 18th century maid's name. It is not popular now. Claverhouse (talk) 19:12, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
I added a reference citing "Sooky" as a nickname for Susan in the nineteenth century Southeastern U.S. I also noted the case of the beloved character "Sook" in several stories starting with A Christmas Memory set in Southern Alabama by Truman Capote. Rt3368 (talk) 10:05, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
