Lead
  • It is the sequel to Sonic Chaos, and features classic Sonic series gameplay. Not major but AFAIK style guidelines say that in most cases splitting stuff like this with a comma is unnecessary—I'd just strike it.
    • Done
  • The player can choose to play as either ... The two "play" words so close to each other is a bit distracting
    • Done
  • Link to Chaos Emeralds at as they venture to protect the powerful Chaos Emeralds
    • Done
  • In retrospect, critics consider it as one... "as" is unnecessary
    • Done
  • I think you need to clarify somewhere in the lead that this is an 8-bit game. General readers could be confused by coming closer than the others to matching the quality of its 16-bit counterparts
    • Done
  • Connecting to the previous point, I'd add a link to 16-bit
    • Done
Gameplay
  • ... into helping his search, meanwhile, treasure hunter... The comma between search and meanwhile should either be a semicolon or a separate sentence
    • Done
  • Players can play... see my comment about this above
    • Done
  • The player can make use of Popcornduff would slap you for using "make use of" instead of the simpler, more concise "use"
    • Done haha
  • I'd link to Rings (Sonic the Hedgehog) at The player collects rings as they explore the stages.
    • Done
  • In other Sonic games Italicize Sonic here
    • Done
  • Link to bonus stage at ... they will be transported to a special bonus stage...
    • Done
Development and release
  • The game debuted a new character in the Sonic series IMO "debuted" is a weird word to use here, I'd replace with "introduced"
    • Done
  • The game was originally planned to be titled Sonic Chaos 2 in western territories I'd cut "planned to be" for concision
    • Done
  • Western should be capitalized
    • Done
  • ... making it the first Sonic game released exclusively for the platform. This is incorrect; Sonic Drift had been released in Japan a few months earlier (the rest of the world didn't get it because it was bad). I'd modify to "the first Sonic platformer", if that doesn't go against the source.
    • Whoops I read the source wrong. You can probably tell by reading I rush wrote this article.
  • It was released in the west... again, "West" should be capitalized
    • Done
  • around October and November 1994,[1][4][6][8][9] watch out for WP:REFOVERKILL
    • Done
  • Might be worth saying when the Coleco Sonic came out (source says 2006)
    • Done
  • The fan remake info kinda seems out of place in the dev section given that it's unofficial, I'd move it to legacy and add some of the "making of" details from the Sega-16 article
    • Done
Reception
  • ... previous games in the Sonic series, and felt the series... Two "series" in the same sentence reads awkwardly
    • Done
  • Some critics felt the levels were large and inviting for exploration. Is this a positive or a negative?
    • Done. Positive.
  • The graphics received universal praise.[1][17][9][8][18][19] WP:REFOVERKILL again
    • Done
  • Several critics noted the game's stages were sparsely populated with enemies "Noted" isn't correct here, as it should only be used for objective facts.
    • Done
Legacy
  • "Western" also should be capitalized here.
    • Done
  • See my comment above about the fan remake
    • Done
  • Most of Comic Vine is WP:USERG, so that ref should be replaced.
    • Ah, I can't find any sources. I had to cite some issues directly.

Overall a neat little article, but there's still some prose issues that need some copyediting. Once they're cleaned up I'll be happy to promote. JOEBRO64 20:18, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
