- Robert Iroga is the first Pacific Islands journalist to work at the ACP Secretariat as the Head of Press and Communication.[citation needed]
- Mr Iroga started with the Solomon Star in 1993 as a cadet after leaving Selwyn College. He now holds a bachelor of communication arts from Divine Word University, Papua New Guinea, a diploma of journalism from Manukau Institute of Technology in New Zealand and an Advanced Certificate in Journalism from the Thomson Foundation, Wales.
- He has written an outstanding paper on Peace Journalism in the Solomon Islands, which is now being published in a book along with academics and journalism practioners in the Pacific region in May 2009.[citation needed]
