There does not appear to be a recognised industry consensus on the term "Smart Fixture" at May 2020.
"Smart" in the context of IIoT and industry 4.0 infers Cyber/ TCIP/ internet connectivity. However, when connected to PLC's/ SCADA the functionality may be equivalent without the use of TCIP as a connection protocol.
