editPerhaps someone can explain the statement "It is also common for different cows to be used that eat more nutritional grass making the cow lighter". Lighter cows have no obvious connection to skim milk.
- That was vandalism. DS (talk) 23:14, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Dubious
editI don't think one study should be used to support this statement: "consumption of low fat and non-fat milk may be correlated with an increased risk of localized or low-grade prostate cancer tumors" when reviews of this study make the finding about calcium and not fat and there are contradicting findings about the benefit of calcium in regards to cancer.
Compare with

Both dietary and supplemental calcium have been associated with increased risk in many observational studies, but calcium supplementation was found to be protective in a randomized clinical trial.

- Done - Taken out of the article as it did not have enough citations to stand on it's own. -- Dane2007 talk 21:51, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
Missing text
editThe article segues abruptly from animal fattening to a paragraph that continues rather than introduces the subject of recent studies on dairy fat and nutrition, disease and weight loss. At least one paragraph is missing. In fact the entire subject deserves its own heading. Merry medievalist (talk) 20:21, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Milk Delivery in the UK
editThe article as of the current date (2017/08/10) states "Today, milkman delivery is non existent in the UK." citing a book reference that I am unable to readily check.
Whilst it's true that milk delivery in the UK has greatly diminished from its heyday of the 1960s & 1970s, and is now unavailable in some areas, it still very much exists in others. My elderly housebound mother lives in a village on the Herts/Essex/London borders and gets her milk delivered from Hertford Dairy three times a week; I know because I pay the bill for her!
The foil top colours are indeed still as described in the article.
Loathe though I am to remove a cited statement when I have no evidence to hand but my own experience, I felt I had to point up this inaccuracy; perhaps someone more versed in the ways of Wikipedia than I could correct this? Thank you. A.S. 2A02:C7D:7479:D600:2436:A85F:F73:8B23 (talk) 02:01, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
-- Just to add, although Hertford Dairy doesn't have much of a web presence, Walden Dairy, which delivered my own milk in another town throughout the 1990s, still seems to.exist with an active web presence here: http://waldendairy.co.uk -- don't know if this is enough to qualify as independent evidence. -- Finally (sorry!), Wikipedia's own main milk article indicates, with citations, that around 6%-7% of UK milk is still delivered by milkman: https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Milk#United_Kingdom
And with that, I'll leave you alone now! A.S.

Health effects
editThe paragraph is biased towards the negative. Heath risks would be a better title. The paragraph is also cited with links to non-scientific sources. Some of those citation links are dead. I propose to delete the paragraph. Sciencefact (talk) 14:24, 28 July 2019 (UTC)Finn Stapelkamp
Article is not about skimmed milk
editI've corrected content but don't feel this page is about skimmed milk more about milk in general. Randomduded (talk) 07:50, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
