Situationism does NOT equal situational ethics.. this redirect should be abolished and an rticle about guy dabord, the lettrists, and raoul vanegeim should instead persist in this location.

ummm... ok. but isn't a situationist an adherent of situationism ? 86.106.43.93 10:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not in this case. A Situationist is an adherant of a particular form of Cultural Marxism, the one advocated by the Situationist International and "having to do with the theory or practical activity of constructing situations." The members of the group, somewhat sillily, rejected the applicated of "-ism" to their philosophy. 75.110.153.157 10:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

situationism

A word totally devoid of meaning, improperly derived from the preceding term. There is no situationism, which would mean a theory of interpretation of existing facts. The notion of situationism was obviously conceived by anti-situationists.

I, too, advocate the removal of this page and replacing it with "Situationist Theory" or something of the like. Seeing as how the situationists totally rejected any form of "ism" as abstract and destructive, the existence of this as an "encyclopedic" article is a blatant insult to them, whether intended or not. The result of the proposal was no consensus to move the page, per the discussion below. I have redirected Situationism to Situationist because it is the common usage of that term, despite the fact that it is not used as a self-identifier. This neutralizes the need for a move because Situationism (disambiguation) is no longer a malplaced disambiguation page. Dekimasuよ! 16:34, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Situationism (disambiguation)Situationism — Ther is no point in having Situationism redir toSituationism (disambiguation) when Situationism is not used for an article.) —Alan Liefting 02:06, 28 April 2007 (UTC) (copied from WP:RM by Stemonitis 07:03, 28 April 2007 (UTC))Reply
