Some proposed changes
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- Information to be added under SNEC within the SingHealth page:
The Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) is a specialty centre for ophthalmological services within the public health sector. Aside from clinical services in ophthalmology, the centre also provides education and research services, with its faculty of nearly 80 ophthalmologists. The Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) was established as the centre’s research arm for eye and vision research.[1]
SNEC manages more than 380,000 patient visits and over 41,000 surgeries annually, many of these are tertiary and complex in nature. The centre’s full spectrum of subspecialties addresses every part of the eye – Corneal & External Eye Disease, Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Ocular Inflammation & Immunology, Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus, Refractive Surgery, and Medical & Surgical Retina.[2]
SNEC adopts a multi-subspecialty approach to treating complex eye conditions, as such disorders require strategic management with other disciplines.[3] The centre undertakes 100% video recording of major surgeries and a full audit of outcomes[4], as well as the pursuit of high-impact translational research (known as clinical-focused research).[5]
- Explanation of issue: I have a conflict of interest in editing this, and would like to request for edits on the text above as the current information appearing under SNEC is outdated. I am NOT a paid editor, and I have worked the text to what I believe is summarising materials from the source. The content is from SNEC's website, as the factual material I obtained is from there. Unfortunately, I can't pull out an online news article on when SNEC was formed. It was formed in 1990! If there is a better source, by all means, please point me to it.
- References supporting change: Have indicated references in text above.

Done, Rebec190. But what happened to the content that used to be at [1]? Pelagic ( messages ) – (20:35 Thu 03, AEDT) 09:35, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you, Pelagic! That is an old page that did not resolve notability issues. For more specific info on SNEC, I started a draft page which is pending review: Singapore National Eye Centre. Thanks! --Rebec190 (talk) 08:28, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
