editWhy was my reply taken off TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 20:35, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
He is using another last name and it should be known..... Geoff Von Gore TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 20:37, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Your reply was not deleted; because it was a new topic, it was given a separate header. You'll find it at the bottom of this page, where you'll find it appropriately responded to. Please continue any discussion on this issue there. --Nat Gertler (talk) 21:08, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Founder's name
editGeoff is now going by a different name.... It's now Geoff Von Gore. This should be up on the page so others can be informed. TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 17:30, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- According to whom? If it does not have reliable sources it is not going in the article. And even if he is using that handle somewhere now I doubt it belongs in the article. The article is about the company, not about the founder. The founder went by "Geoff Beckett" when he founded the company, and was still posting on social media using that name as of a few days ago. Meters (talk) 17:50, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Reliable, At the Cons,Facebook. He goes by Von Gore. Thats a fact and it should be on there. TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 01:58, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- Your say-so doesn't count as a reliable source (see our guidelines for reliable sources, much less show that it's relevant to Shocker Toys. --Nat Gertler (talk) 05:24, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
Im not saying its my say so its not.....its facts that are out there. Not causing trouble but people need to know these things. TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 13:50, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- As long as you're not saying "here's where to verify the information", it's your say-so. "It's out there" is not a citation. --Nat Gertler (talk) 14:19, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- And even if "it's out there" somewhere, why should we retroactively change the name of the company's founder? As I said, Geoff Beckett is still posting on social media under "Geoff Becket". Here's his GBJRToys account where he posted just five days ago https://www.facebook.com/gbjrtoys . He's discussed both Shocker Toys and GBJRToys there in the last two months. Meters (talk) 17:26, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
Why is it that you cant add facts....only what do think are facts? TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 19:33, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- See WP:TALK. The talk page is to discuss changes to the article, it is not for "comments or discussion about the article subject (as opposed to its treatment in the article)." I removed your comment since it was nothing but a link to a webpage and a derogatory comment about the article subject. Meters (talk) 21:20, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- And I've now removed your earlier message about the article subject owning another website. Unsourced contentious claims about living people are BLP violations, even on a talkpage. Meters (talk) 21:26, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
It's funny that Facts and the Truth does not go on here TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 00:45, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Off topic thread moved from much earlier thread
editIs the page going to be updated with the news story's about him out there now? TheOneofMany2000 (talk) 00:49, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Probably not.
- Who is "him"? Even assuming that "him" is the company's founder, I have no idea what articles you are talking about.
- As you've already been told, this article is about the company, not about the founder. Since the founder is apparently no longer associated with this company, there would be no reason to discuss any current news coverage of its founder (unless the coverage is associated with this company).
