I,Superfast1111 have uploaded a few images on the page. However another user Abhishek191288 'thinks' they are irrelevant. I strongly argue that Shatabdi's images on Shatabdi's page are very much relevant & since they are not doing any harm whatsoever anyway they should not be removed. Speed claim

edit

The claim that the 12041/42 Howrah - New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi is the fastest diesel hauled train is incorrect. It covers the total distance of 1122 kms in 16 hrs 5 mins giving it an average of 69.76 km/hr. The Pune - Secunderabad Shatabdi which is also fully hauled on diesel power covers a total distance of 1194 kms in 16 hrs 55 mins giving it an average of 70.58 km/hr. Both calculations have been made inclusive of all halts for the sake of parity.

Thus, the Pune - Secunderabad Shatabdi must be considered the fastest diesel hauled Shatabdi Express. Superfast1111 (talk) 07:51, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Defunct train route

edit

@nk&fables Being a premium train series, please don't delete defunct routes but details is not needed. In case of non- premium trains, not only details but also one word is not required. Poorva12303 (talk) 06:40, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Magentic Manifestations this time you have deleted. Please don't do Poorva12303 (talk) 07:08, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Poorva12303 I have clearly stated not to include poorly sourced information. If you want to add information on defunct trains, please add it in the proper format with references backing up each. I am reverting back to the previous version. You have been hell bent on adding the same half-baked copy-paste information. Please stop this and try to add properly sourced content. @Magentic Manifestations
Howrah Rourkela became Howrah Tata but you deleted Rourkela despite giving budget of the train announcement and another year budget for its train number as sources.

Erstwhile Rajahmundry-Secunderabad Shatabdi is also is in IRFCA website but you deleted. As no govt source is available I did not give any source for it.
Source of New Delhi Kathgodam was not possible so I gave a note like that it had no source only one entry without source is not a big problem if it is mentioned source is not possible. Then internet was not developed. You may delete New Delhi Kathgodam only but you should not delete Rourkela.
As per your demand route of earlier Bhatinda shatabdi which was via Patiala (later was via Rohtak and later extended to Firozpur and finally withdrawn)has also been added Poorva12303 (talk) 11:31, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
a. First, do not delete columns and do edits as per your whims and fancies without proper explanation
b. Burden of proof or reference is with the editor. IRFCA is a fan website and not a WP:RS. The other source is fine and have added the same with the proper format. Pl make sure citations are mentioned in the proper format.
c. The train was running to Tata nagar when defunct, so the name is maintained. Intermediate stoppages or terminations are not required for specific trains alone.

Bhatinda Shatabdi was via Patiala is mentioned with source as the route is longer and there was another Bhatinda Shatabdi via Rohtak which was extended to Firozpur and later it was withdrawn.
Rourkela Shatadi was introduced in 1995 (source given) and the same train number was of Tata Shatabdi. As the train was introduced as Rourkela Shatabdi so Rourkela is written and it is also to match with the source. Poorva12303 (talk) 12:29, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
