Title, capitalization, formatting

edit

@Xexerss "Sensei" is not actually capitalized in the English releases. The indicia of all fourteen English volumes gives the title as Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei: The Power of Negative Thinking. The indicia of the English Blu-ray similarly gives "Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei": https://store.crunchyroll.com/sayonara-zetsubou-sensei.html

Similarly, bracketing and bulleting "Zoku" is taken from the indicia of the English Blu-ray: https://store.crunchyroll.com/zoku-sayonara-zetsubou-sensei.html Unint (talk) 19:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Unint: Both Kodansha USA and Del Rey have written the title on their sites as "Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei",[1][2] and I assume that's why the own article is titled that way (and not "Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei"). I understand that the term is a suffix, and I would not object to leaving it lowercase if this change is discussed, but I think this should be constant. As for the other thing, I refer to what is indicated by MOS:JAPAN#Titles of media about avoiding the use of decorative or unusual punctuation mark conventions; a clear example is given with the Maze (song) article. Also, per WP:COMMONNAME, I'm sure that most secondary sources must refer to the series as "Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei" (or "(Zoku) Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei") and not as "[Zoku·] Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei". I mean, beyond the stylization of the logo on the cover, is there evidence of secondary sources spelling the name that way in running text? Xexerss (talk) 20:27, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
