Issues with this article

• I have a problem with the article title. Is "Sacrifice of Thunder Child" the official name for the event in the book or elsewhere? Is there a source?
• Is the maintainance of this entry in accordance with WP:FICT?
• Given the small size of the entry for The War of the Worlds (novel), is there any reason why this page should not be merged with it? Slac speak up! 00:00, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

I have a problem with you attempting to delete the material in this article. If you actually did some constructive work, you might be able to merge it with the novel, but you will not simply replace all the work and research that has gone into this article with a redirect. ➥the Epopt 00:28, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

I have to agree, for the msot part. I think given the amount of material, either more time should pass before a move is made, or more delicate work should be put into a merge. I refrained from saying anything when this was posted because I had hoped someone more knowledgable would speak up before me. I will say that if - if - there were a merge, it should actually be with the HMS Thunder Child article (and not a simple redirect to The War of the Worlds disambiguation page), considering the ship's existence is tied directly and solely to the battle that makes up this article. I should also admit that a name for the battle is not given, and as far as I'm aware there no name has been coined among fans. My only suggestion on this is that maybe the title should be changed to Sacrifice of the Thunder Child because it sounds odd with out "the" before the ship's name. --Bacteria 09:41, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
