A fact from Russell Adam Burnham appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 16 October 2007. The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Russell Adam Burnham, the U.S. Army Soldier of the Year in 2003, became the U.S. Army Medical Command NCO of the Year in 2007?
I have personal knowledge that he is an Eagle Scout, I just don't have a citation. Also, he remains active in the Boy Scouts. Ctatkinson07:27, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Could you get a copy of a newspaper article him, his certificate or something? Then we could put it on wikisource.Rlevse09:49, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
From the WP guidelines for notability: "Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things like fame, importance, or the popularity of a topic". This article was previously nominated and selected for the WP DYK main page, so it has previously demonstrated merit by WP users and administrators beyond this guideline. In addition, this article meets the basic nobility critera: "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject."
