Standings
editThe standings table should be totally reorganised, as the first table includes older multihulls that are in excess of 60', herego not in the ORMA 60 nomenclature at all. Ideally we can break it down year after year, then category by category, rather than the present category (currently only ORMA60 and IMOCA60). That way we can include older records and that of Franck Cammas. Please offer suggestions here. Nuttyrave (talk) 17:38, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Contested deletion Category talk:Yachting races
editYou should know about this and comment. One of our editors has systematically depopulated it (perhaps from this article among many others), and thinks that is a good reason to delete it. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:17, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Things that need fixing
editFirst off this is a very historic race so it does need to remain in Wikipedia, in my opinion. So, hopefully it's not deleted. It needs quite a bit of work, though.
The class structure for boats in the race over the years has changed quite a bit. The original race had, I believe, no classes. It was truly an open race. As classes were added for a while the maxi-boats with not limits were allowed, then for quite a few years the OMRA 60 footers were the largest multihulls permitted, and then I believe in 2010 the organizers again decided to allow unlimited (or perhaps very large with some limit?) multis back.
I agree with the previous commentator that the way the tables are laid out is confusing, and that the tables would be better organized by year, with classes underneath the year.
Right now it's clear that there was more information added for 2006 (the number of entries per class). It would be good to try to get this information into the tables, it stands out sort of oddly as it is currently formatted.
I don' think this is a controversial subject, and with the 2018 race kicking off in a month more people will be coming to visit this page. Unless someone else volunteers I will try to do these updates pretty soon, after leaving time for others to comment here first for a bit.
