Robertson screw is not the same as Square screw

Robertson one is tapered. We can see an image on the Robertson screws website.

Comments about that on different forums:

#1 Robertson screws are tapered (can't remember the angle), square drive screws are not. Robertson screws will stay on the driver as you wave it around at the top of a 12 ft ladder. Square drives, not so much

#2 I think you are confusing what some people say on the internet with what is true. Yes there is some confusion out there when it comes to Robertson vs square drive. A square drive is not a Robertson. A Robertson is tapered a square drive is not. Some call a Robertson a square drive and vice versa. A square drive is an imitation of a Robertson, better than a slotted or Phillips but not as good as a Robertson. In most applications a square drive is fine but a Robertson is superior. Just like some people call a circular saw a Skil saw but that doesn't make your Dewalt circular saw a Skil saw.
