editWhat's all this rubbish about this being an article about a living person? Robert Halpin, (bless his memory), has been in his grave for over 120 years.Plerdsus

Transatlantic telegraph cable
editThis article indicates that Halpin captained the Great Eastern during the laying of the transatlantic telegraph cable—but our articles transatlantic telegraph cable, Sir James Anderson, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and SS Great Eastern all indicate that the ship was instead captained by Sir James Anderson at the time. Can anyone offer some insight into this? Maralia (talk) 16:39, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing this. Anderson was first, but a financial failure. Halpin was second; a technical and financial success. We need to revise these articles with appropriate references. - ClemMcGann (talk) 12:31, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
