Shield volcano?

edit

The closest shield volcano to Rexburg is Hell's Half Acre Lava Field (according to this), but it looks like that one is further southwest, between Idaho Falls and Blackfoot. The whole Idaho/Wyoming/Montana area is dotted with volcanoes, including shields which are very low profile, but if the one under Rexburg isn't notable enough to have a name, I'm not sure it needs to be mentioned here. – jaksmata 16:41, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The unnamed volcano is also mentioned in the Rexburg article, but without sources there either. – jaksmata 16:44, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

"The designing of this temple differs from others in that it was designed by a private firm, not the church's architectural department. "

Besides having no citation, the above statement is unnecessary, and most likely erroneous. My research has led me to understand that the first temple designed by a private firm was Cardston Alberta (Pope and Burton), and, near as I have been able to tell, most temples were designed by outside firm. Idaho Falls - Mexico City were designed by Architects employed by the Church, but the vast majority of temples since that time period have been designed by external firms.

Most of the time this can be verified by looking at the fact sheets the Church releases in relation to the dedication. For example, here are the 10 temples built and dedicated BEFORE Rexburg was finished, and their respective Architectural firms.
