This was a student research project on a topic of interest to historians and the general public. The Revival of 1800 is referenced in several existing Wikipedia pages, but did not have its own separate page. A student in my class on the American Revolution at Western Kentucky University chose to create a Wikipedia page as a research project. The topic is thoroughly researched and footnoted. It is not promotional in any way, nor does it promote anything, except in the sense that it gives information on the subject.

(your reason here) --Crystal Chapman (talk) 02:24, 7 May 2014 (UTC) This is not promotional material but research by a serious student of religious and early American history. If you can point out specific examples of what you regard as promotion, I will be happy to revisit them with your criticism in mind. In viewing the Wikipedia articles on the subject of the Second Great Awakening, I noticed that almost nothing was said about this important event about which many respected historians have written. If you look at the bibliography and examine the references you will see that this is true.
