editI'm looking for reliable sources to support that Redut and Redoubt are the same as per Talk:Battle of the Siverskyi Donets#Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 1 March 2023. Anyone have any leads? Lizthegrey (talk) 20:54, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Lizthegrey I'm also working on this topic. I found a lot of reliable sources were using Redoubt instead of Redut. The only post showed the link was on reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/10h4dc2/cepathe_next_russian_civil_war_is_already_under/ . Which is not a reliable source -Lemonaka 17:44, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- What's frustrating is there are gobs of primary sources e.g. sanctions and Ukrainian government announcements. We can also potentially lean on wiktionary:redut and translation to substantiate that Редут literally means "redoubt" but... Lizthegrey (talk) 18:34, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Redut (company) → Redut – Only name. Parham wiki (talk) 12:09, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- This would require several other Russian PMC articles to be changed - is just the name "Redut" indicative enough that this is a PMC? Zerbrxsler (talk) 14:54, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Zerbrxsler Yes, Unlike "Redut", Patriot and Fakel have disambiguation pages. Parham wiki (talk) 15:28, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- "Redoubt", which "Redut" is the Russian word for, has a disambiguation page: Redoubt (disambiguation) Zerbrxsler (talk) 16:25, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Zerbrxsler "Redoubt" is different from "Redut" just like Islamic state and Islamic State. If the title of the article was Redoubt, it would need "(Company)". Per WP:TITLEDAB, disambiguation is only necessary when there is otherwise an actual conflict in article titles. No such conflict in titles exists. Per WP:AT, concision is preferred over unnecessary precision. Parham wiki (talk) 17:00, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

- @Cinderella157 ;) It is a good and solid argument and it is possible to convince others. Parham wiki (talk) 00:09, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
