editThe Constable Hook article currently reads: "Constable Hook also called Constable's Hook, is a short cape located on the north side of the outlet of Kill van Kull into Upper New York Bay (40°39′28″N 74°05′58″WCoordinates: 40°39′28″N 74°05′58″W). It forms the eastmost extent of the industrial Port Johnson in southeast Bayonne." Link existed prior to this article's creation. Might want to think a little bit about that, User:Djflem. - MIght want to look at a map or reference before making huge guffaws like this [1]. Since when is Centerville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in Bayonne? Djflem (talk) 19:09, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry Djflem, I was just redirecting a link to an article which I had moved to a more specific title, which means someone else made a guffaw and I didn't realize it. Even before I changed the target, it still went to the article in Hunterdon County, so someone else screwed up. Sorry for not noticing, but not my original error. Famartin (talk) 19:58, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Anyway, Djflem, you gonna actually deal with what I mentioned above, or are you just enjoying your little power trip otherwise known as "Djflem rules Hudson County"? Famartin (talk) 20:04, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, Djflem, as far as "guffaws", when you undid my edit, you just caused the link to go a disambiguation page that still had no relation to Hundson County. So, who's making guffaws now? Hahaha! Might want to watch what you say next time, eh? Famartin (talk) 20:20, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
I refer you to your responses at Talk:Babbitt, North Bergen where it seems there are some conveniently ignored questions that need to be "dealt with". But if you want be specific about what point you're trying to make about Constable Hook please do so and provide some sort of reference for any claims you wish to make Or better yet do, some research, make some improvements the Constable Hook article, add some citations that'll make it to make worthwhile to quote. (By the way, there's Hudson County and Hunterdon County, but not a Hundson)Djflem (talk) 20:56, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- My point is that its contradictory. The Constable Hook article says that Constable Hook is the eastmost extent of Port Johnson. But, the Port Johnston article, which you redirected this page to, is specifically about a set of docks which are in turn described as being "in Constable Hook". So, which is it? Is Constable Hook part of Port Johnson, or is Port Johnson part of Constable Hook? You are the self-proclaimed god of Hudson County so shouldn't you know? (and shouldn't you have noticed this inconsistency already?) I just went by GNIS, which has an entry for Port Johnson but not for Constable Hook (at least not as a populated place). Famartin (talk) 21:07, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
This difference at Constable Hook [2] shows that the description about Port Johnson was added in September 2006 when the article was quite new. That it has gone unreferenced for 8.5 years does not necessary make it true. So if you'd like to update the Constable Hook article there's certainly room for improvement, if indeed improving Wikipedia articles (stubs, especially) is your concern.Djflem (talk) 21:10, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
Middleton, Kathleen (2000), Bayonne Passages, Arcadia Publishing, ISBN 9780752405636 provides a map of the location.Djflem (talk) 21:23, 12 February 2015 (UTC) http://wikimapia.org/2332167/Port-Johnson-Wrecks is also useful.Djflem (talk) 21:27, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Just looking at the USGS map provided in the Bayonne Historic Site Survey, it would appear that Constable Hook contains Port Johnson, not the other way around. I made the change and cited that source, but if you want another one, change or add as you see fit. Famartin (talk) 21:35, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Boys, let's bring these discussions to WP:NJ. I'll invite Magnolia. Tinton5 (talk) 22:29, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
