Re-wrote article, removing link to Hudson Bay Company Fort Colvile, changing rank of Brevet Major Lugenbeel, adding links to documents that show the early town, and added information from the Spokane/Stevens County Commissioners Journals held at the Stevens County Board of County Commissioners Office, Colville. Removed reference to the county seat being at Okanogan, which wasn't true. Added information about when the post offices were formed. Removed incorrect information about the Spokane and Stevens County, which really wasn't the prior author's error. The misinformation started with the 1904 An Illustrated History of Stevens, Ferry, Okanogan, and Chelan counties, also called the History of North Washington. I've referenced The Evolution of Washington Counties by Newton, but also have copies from the Washington State Archives for the legislature's changes of boundaries for Stevens and Spokane Counties.
