Removing Niagara Peninsula From Summary
editI am removing the Niagara Peninsula from the opening summary, as it is not an actual peninsula, although it is commonly or popularly referred to as a peninsula. However, geographical references do not refer to it as such, and by definition it is not a peninsula. I am replacing it with more recognizable peninsulas on the planet Earth. Also, the opening summary lists 4 "references" for this sentence - which are actually definitions for the term peninsula - but do not constitute a "reference." Those definitions should be applied somewhere else where the definition of peninsula is discussed. Stevenmitchell (talk) 07:52, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
Plural is peninsulae but it won't let me change it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.246.146 (talk) 23:47, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Scandinavian vs Fennoscandian
editHello there. I am wondering why exactly the Scandinavian Peninsula is listed in the overview of peninsulas instead of the Fennoscandian. This is obviously also a peninsula, separated from the rest of Afro-Eurasia by the strip of land between the Gulf of Finland and the Onega Bay. I understand that the Scandinavian is the more commonly-recognized term, but geographically I don't see the reasoning for excluding Finland, Kola and Karelia from the peninsula. 109.247.106.148 (talk) 21:50, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
Shouldn’t the Fennoscandian Peninsula be at Number 4?
