Rio Pecos
editWhy not this? The river does start in New Mexico, and it is called Rio Pecos here.Arkannis (talk) 17:14, 4 June 2013 (MDT)
Any arguments against? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.130.132.140 (talk) 23:14, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- Sure. Every source on the page, including ones from NM and USGS, call it the Pevos River. So does every non-spanish map I have. You may want to start with reliable sources that support the claim that this is the common name, as opposed to a local one. Kuru (talk) 00:36, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

editdid the pecos not earlier run out, dry up, go underground, before emptying into the Rio Grand?Mcclurerm (talk) 03:05, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- No. It is a fairly large river that empties into the Rio Grand where it becomes a major contributer to the Amistad Reservoir. It does not go to wherever HERE in the proposal is. foobar (talk) 23:21, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
