Rated Greatest Game Ever
edit"Pandemic Legacy: Season 1, a spinoff version of Pandemic, which adds an ongoing storyline to the game, was for some time rated by the website Board Game Geek as the greatest board game ever made" - Yes, I realize you can link to references which claim that Board Game Geek said this. However, that's not really the case. BGG does not do such a rating. It's debatable what the BGG rating system actually measures, but it does not actually claim these are "greatest game ever created" rankings. Based on their suggested criteria for how people ought to rate games, the game at the #1 spot would be more like "the game that the highest number of users want to be playing right now". - Modified wording to show it continues to place high on the BGG Board Game rankings, which I agree is different than "the greatest board game ever made". Harris Seldon (talk) 09:02, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
Untitled
editThere is an expansion called "Pandemic: On the Brink" which adds new player roles and an alternative gaming version in which one player plays the role of a bio-terrorist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.19.245.166 (talk) 22:45, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Cures?
editWouldn't the four things being researched be vaccines and not cures? Since the players can already "cure" diseases by regular actions, and a vaccine would prevent further infection like how it works in the game. KarstenO (talk) 14:44, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Sounds like you're arguing that the game should have used different terminology -- which, even if true, is not relevant to this article. Anyway, the "regular action" you're talking about is called "treat", not "cure". Moreover, once a cure is discovered, it does NOT prevent further infection; only eradicating the disease will do that. Pandemic Legacy
editGiven the enormous success of Pandemic Legacy, and its extensive mentions in reliable secondary sources, it seems that something more significant is called for here beyond the cursory mention as a Pandemic spinoff - it deserves a much larger section and a significant mention in the lede. I'd open to any suggestions on how to do this. Nwlaw63 (talk) 13:17, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
Are "Pandemic Legacy" and "Pandemic: Season 1" the same thing? There's no section for Season 1, but the Legacy section talks about it, and the introduction doesn't mention Legacy! --AnotherHowie (talk) 08:21, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
Pandemic Legacy is made up of Season 1 and 2. Are the Season 1 Red and Blue boxes the same content as each other or different? Also, are the Season 2 Black and Yellow boxes the same content as each other or different? Harris Seldon (talk) 12:00, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Number of Roles included
editThe introduction at the top of the page is misleading. The current version of the game includes 7 roles, not 5. I do see that later on in the Editions section, they mention this change, but it seems that this is backwards to how the information should be presented. The introduction should reflect the game as it exists now, and in the Editions section it should reference that an obsolete version of the game that isn't made anymore had only 5 roles. I'm not comfortable editing wiki pages, but I wanted to point this out for someone else who is.
