Primary topic
editHi all, although bold is fine and there's some merit in the army primary topic, this was reckless (and typo encumbered). It was challenged by another editor who was incorrectly told they should start a move request. Anyone can challenge such a unilateral move, and I've reverted. I think it's best to stick to the custom and have consensus per discussion for this, and not repeat a unilateral move. See WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for typical reasoning, which is typically a high bar for acronyms IMHO. Ping those involved User:Prisencolin User:Republicson User:Gorthian . - @Widefox: I don’t believe I’ve had anything to do with this page...? Is there a move or a discussion you’re referring to? — Gorthian (talk) 22:01, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Gorthian: Not this, but that.. PLA (disambiguation), in particular [1] "If you don’t agree that People’s Liberation Army should be the WP: WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, start a requested move discussion" which could easily happen with Twinkle considering the botched move history which prevented me simply reverting (I'm assuming an unitentional move typo error). - Ah, I see. Thanks for the diff link. That is a mess of a move. I came in in the middle, it looks like, and didn’t even notice the misspelling. But I think my advice was sound (even if I can’t type links!). — Gorthian (talk) 22:20, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- I think given the Twinkle vision it's understandable, but unreasonable considering the unilateral primary topic disruption. Widefox; talk 22:45, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- I may have made some rookie mistake. Anything needed from me at this point? Republicson (talk) 03:33, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Peoples liberation Army
editcan we change that to say armed wing of the Communist party of China. Its not the armed forces of the CPC, not even China. The PLA is a part of the Chinese armed forces 158.223.122.133 (talk) 18:32, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
